Our Mission

To regenerate Kenya’s landscapes using smart, low-cost, and community-driven techniques — while creating green jobs, food security, and long-term income streams for rural citizens.

What We Do

Ujanja Mashinani runs large-scale, phased seedball deployment campaigns and land partnership models that:

  • Restore degraded land using indigenous seed varieties
  • Train and employ youth in ecological mapping, GPS monitoring, and agroforestry
  • Partner with churches, CFAs, and schools to mobilize local communities
  • Monitor forest recovery through tech-enabled photo tracking
  • Promote carbon-positive forestry that grows value over decades

Where We Work

Our roots are in Embu County, where the movement launched in 2025 across:

  • Kiritiri and Mbeere South hillsides
  • Runyenjes Hills
  • Buffer zones near Mwea National Reserve

But Ujanja is spreading — fast. We’re now launching sites in:

  • Kiserian (Kajiado County)
  • Machakos, Kitui, Narok, Kericho, and Meru
  • With a growing presence in faith-owned lands and rural institutions
